Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 24 interacted with Sarpanchs from across India via video conferencing on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also present during the video conference. PM Modi inaugurated e-Gram Swaraj portal and a mobile application to mark the day. While addressing the many village chiefs, he said, “The villages in India have given the mantra of - 'Do gaj doori ' to define social distancing in simpler terms, to fight coronavirus pandemic.”
