Chicagoans line up for hours for Batter and Berries' French toast
  • 3 years ago
Batter & Berries was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Craig and Tanya Richardson as an eclectic brunch restaurant specializing in French toast. Over time, it has created over 200 different flavors of French toast that rotate as weekly specials. They consistently offer strawberry, lemon, blueberry, and caramel. If you can’t decide which flavor you want, customers can order the “French Toast Flight,” which consists of four flavors of French toast that are available that day. Even during the pandemic, the restaurant still has lines for brunch and continues to offer pickup and delivery. Recognized by Eater and Zagat for their “must-try” French toasts, Batter & Berries has become one of Chicago's favorite brunch spots. It’s also listed as the best black-owned restaurant in Illinois in Travel Noire Magazine. The restaurant has become so popular that they are in the process of opening two more locations.
