El pelotón rodará por un terreno muy sinuoso. La primera parte de la etapa incluye el Portillo de las Batuecas (1ª) que ayudará a la formación de la escapada, donde los aspirantes a la general tendrán una última oportunidad para infiltrar a sus efectivos para afrontar a continuación tres puertos de 3ª. El paso inédito por La Garganta (2ª), precederá el final en La Covatilla, puerto de categoría especial en el que los líderes se dejarán hasta el último gramo de fuerzas para ganar La Vuelta.
FERNANDO ESCARTÍN’S COMMENT
The peloton will ride through a winding terrain. The first part of the stage includes the Portillo de las Batuecas (1 st category) that will enable a breakaway to take place, where contenders for the GC will have one last chance to infiltrate the troops in order to face three 3 rd category climbs. The unprecedented climb of La Garganta (2 nd category), will precede the finale in La Covatilla, a HC mountain pass where leaders will use every inch of their strength in order to win La Vuelta.
