Goldman Sachs charged in foreign bribery case and agrees to pay over US$2.9 billion

Last week, Goldman Sachs agreed to pay US$2.9 billion to the US Justice Department (DOJ) after admitting its role “in a massive global scheme to loot billions of dollars” from 1MDB. In this video released by the DOJ, Brian Rabbitt, acting head of the department's criminal division, said the penalty was the largest ever levied for a breach of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
