Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan spoke to Senior Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi as part of a video series the latter is doing with experts on various subjects amid the Coronavirus lockdown. Rajan highlighted the figure of Rs 65,000 crore that will be needed to help save the lives of the poor who are suffering due to the nation-wide lockdown. He also said that for a country like India, a long lockdown is not sustainable. “"We need to be cleverer in lifting the lockdown. We need to open up in a measured way as India does not have capacity to feed people for long,” said Rajan.
