Sushant Singh Rajput No More: His Journey From Television To Films As Bollywood Mourns His Sad Loss

34-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 at his Mumbai residence. The talented star was found hanging in his Bandra room. His post-mortem report confirmed that it was a case of suicide. Sushant Singh Rajput had put up a moving post just last week when his former manager Disha Salian was found dead. His last post was dedicated to his mother whose death in 2002 left him devastated. Soon after the news broke out, social media was flooded with messages of shock from the film fraternity and fans. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar and many others expressed shock and grief. Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna and studied engineering. He wanted to become an astronaut. He eventually dropped out of engineering just a year short of his degree to pursue an acting career. Sushant left a scholarship from Stanford University to make it big in Bollywood. Rajput became a household name with his hit television series "Pavitra Rishta". He made his debut in films in 2013 with the critically acclaimed "Kai Po Che!" He acted in several films like Shuddh Desi Romance, PK, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Ms Dhoni: The Untold Story, Raabta, Kedarnath, Sonchiriya. The actor then starred in Netflix film Drive along with Jacqueline Fernandez. Ironically, in Chhichhore, Sushant who plays the role of a father explains to his son that failing in examination doesn't mean it is the end of life. He is seen telling 'suicide' is not the solution. Sushant’s next, Dil Bechara, was slated to hit the silver screens on May 8 this year.
