Free Kashmir Row: Protester Clarifies Stand Over Poster, Aaditya Thackeray Says Look At Intent
  • 3 years ago
A row has broken out over a protester holding up a ‘Free Kashmir’ poster at the Gateway of India during the midnight protests which began after the JNU violence. Mumbai Police say they have taken cognizance of the fact and are investigating the protester. A debate has also broken out on social media as former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis taunting his former ally Uddhav Thackeray. The protester has come forward to clarify that her poster was a call to re-instate internet and other freedoms to the people of the valley as they have been under curfew-like conditions since the NDA government abrogated Article 370. Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray has commented on the controversy, saying the intent of the protester needs to be taken into account.
