A family tragedy in Myanmar as Covid lockdown pushes poor to the brink

Out of work and unable to feed his baby son, Khine Thazin Myint's 23-year-old husband took his own life. He was from a poor family in Myanmar, one of many suffering increased hardship under the coronavirus lockdown.
"Even before lockdown, he had no job. He was looking for work, but everywhere was in lockdown and he couldn’t find anything," Khine says.

Also contains images of volunteers preparing and delivering food packages as the pandemic bites and virus restrictions create further financial woes for many.
