Padmapriya Slams Malayalam Film Body Association; Calls Out For Gender Sensitivity

Days after Malayalam actor Parvathy Thiruvothu resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), actor Padmapriya slammed the leadership of the association, saying "no matter how adverse a scenario AMMA faces collectively as an organisation, the entire leadership will stay quiet". Padmapriya called out the misogynistic setup in the Malayalam film industry and stated that women were treated as supplements. People from the fraternity and as a collective should realise that this is not noise being created by fellow actors but it is a call for equality, said Padmapriya. She even called the likes of Dulquer Salman urging them to raise their voice on the issue. For the uninitiated, the controversy in AMMA is regarding the reinstatement of actor Dileep, who has been accused of abducting and sexually assaulting an actress. Watch the video to know more.
