South Korea's products and solutions to COVID-19 have been praised around the world. To share some of its knowledge and help domestic firms connect with overseas buyers, the country is holding its first online bio health conference.
Kim Sung-min reports.
South Korea's first online bio health conference kicked off on Monday.
It is the world's very first virtual conference which encompasses all fields of the bio health industry.
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the conference also aims to help more than 4-hundred domestic bio health companies increase their exports.
"It is with regret that COVID-19 took away the opportunity for us to gather in person and to see and feel products first hand. Still, the Online Exhibition simulates almost all the functions of an offline exhibition."
Firms will be able to find potential buyers by holding meetings and displaying their products virtually until the end of October.
Those products include COVID-19 testing kits and wearable air purifying masks.
To help potential buyers better understand the products, 3D scanning and animations are used,... providing a more realistic experience.
As well as connecting business partners, the conference will host speeches by local and overseas experts on COVID-19 over the next three days.
Given the shift towards virtual platforms, this conference could also act as a stepping stone for South Korea to take the lead in the emerging global online conference market.
