Widespread use of child labour on cocoa farms

An anti-slavery movement has exposed widespread use of child labor on cocoa farms in West African countries. Child exploitation has plagued the cocoa industry for years. Freedom United says despite promises from the world’s largest chocolate companies to eradicate the problem, not much has been done. Most of the children laboring on cocoa farms are between the ages of 12 and 16. For more on the topic, the movement’s Executive Director, Joanna Ewart-James talks to eNCA from Kigali in Rwanda.
