Pakistan bans TikTok over ‘immoral and indecent’ videos

Pakistan has blocked the popular social media app TikTok which is owned by Chinese tech giant ByteDance. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said on October 9, 2020, that it was receiving complaints against “immoral and indecent” content on the video-sharing platform. India has already blocked TikTok, which faces a threatened ban in the US and is under scrutiny in other countries including Australia.
