Soon Naravane takes over as the chief, he will join his coursemates — Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh and IAF chief Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria — from the same 56th NDA course, at the military pinnacle. After completing their three “sleep-deprived” years in the 56th course at NDA, which admits around 350 cadets each in two courses every year, the three went to their respective service academies before getting commissioned as officers in June-July 1980.
