The military chiefs of South Korea and the U.S. have vowed to strengthen the combined defense posture based on the allies' ironclad alliance.
South Korea's new chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, General Won In-choul held phone talks on Tuesday with his U.S. counterpart Mark Milley... for the first time since Won took office.
They agreed to actively support diplomatic efforts for the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula... and the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
Won is scheduled to hold phone talks with U.S. Indo-Pacific Command leader Admiral Phil Davidson on Friday.
