S. Korea reports 64 new cases on Sunday; fourth consecutive day below 100

코로나19 신규 확진 64명...국내 발생 47명

Today, on the last day of the Chuseok holiday, South Korea reported 64 new cases of COVID-19.
47 of them were local and 17 were imported, bringing the total to date... to 24-thousand-91.
The number of new cases has been below a hundred for four consecutive days.
35 new cases were in the capital region 16 in Seoul, 14 in Gyeonggi-do Province and 5 in Incheon.
One new death was reported, bringing the death toll to 4-hundred-21.
The number of new cases is significantly lower now than in the most recent peak in mid-August when there were more than 4-hundred a day.
Meanwhile,... some political groups have announced plans to hold street rallies next Friday on Hangeul Day.
But Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said today that for the sake of people's lives and safety, the government will not allow that to happen.
Also, it's been announced that starting November 13th, people will be fined if they don't follow the rules on wearing masks in public places.
According to a new administrative order, the places where masks are required will depend on the official level of social distancing set by the authorities and the circumstances of each local government.
