Hathras in Uttar Pradesh has landed in the national spotlight since the death of a 19-year-old Dalit girl. Family members of the teen alleged the UP Police and Hathras administration cremated her body in the middle of the night against their wishes.
On a day when the entire media and Opposition leaders were stopped from meeting the victim's family, India Today managed to speak to them.
The father, brother and sister of the victim who are being kept under heavy police guard at their home in Boolgarhi village, told India Today, "We are under a lot of pressure and fear."
