Indian Railways is working with zoro towards increasing the speed of passenger trains. On many fronts, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the speed of passenger trains will be increased to 160 km per hour. To meet this goal of Indian Railways, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works has designed aerodynamic designed WAP-5 passenger electric locomotive engine. In the first batch, two engines have been prepared, whose number is 35012 and 35013.

इंडियन रेलवे यात्री ट्रेनों की रफ्तार बढ़ाने की दिशा में जोरो से काम कर रहा है. वंही कई मोर्चों पर केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने कहा है कि यात्री ट्रेनों की स्पीड बढ़ाकर 160 किमी प्रति घंटा की जाएगी. इंडियन रेलवे के इसी लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के लिए चितरंजन लोकोमोटिव वर्क्स ने एयरोडायनेमिक डिजाइन वाला WAP-5 पैसेंजर इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव इंजन तैयार किया है. पहले बैच में दो इंजन तैयार किए गए हैं.
