London's Elephant And Castle shopping centre closes after 55 years
  • 4 years ago
Footage from Thursday evening (September 24) shows empty aisles on the very last day of the Elephant And Castle shopping centre in south London, which originally opened in March 1965.

The shopping centre will be shut down and demolished, with many traders who had stores unable to relocate.

The famous elephant statue will be moved to neighbouring Castle Square.
