정은경, 봉준호... 美타임지 ‘2020년 세계에서 가장 영향력 있는 100인’ 선정

Every year, Time magazine publishes a list of 100 most influential people of the year.
It's been doing it for nearly twenty years. But there has never been a year like this.
Time says this year's list includes many extraordinary, lesser-known individuals who seized the moment to save lives, build a movement, lift the spirit, repair the world.
Among them, South Korea disease control chief, Dr. Jeong Eun-kyeong... and the traditionally extraordinary - among them, Parasite director, Bong Joon-ho.
Choi Wonjong reports.
Time Magazine on Wednesday named the 100 most influential people of 2020, and making the list are Jeong Eun-kyeong, Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, as well as Oscar-winning film director Bong Joon-ho.
Commissioner Jeong's inclusion in particular was praised by South Korean President Moon Jae-in who lauded her openness and transparency throughout the coronavirus outbreak.
A Blue House official also said that 'K-quarantine' has been recognized as the global standard for other countries to follow...adding that the inclusion of Jeong Eun-kyeong could be an opportunity to share the nation's quarantine efforts and achievements with the U.S.
As the first female chief of the KDCA, Jeong has been fighting on the frontline.
During daily COVID-19 briefings throughout the year, the Commissioner's hair has been visibly more gray...on account of the dedication shown to provide information on the latest updates and preventative measures.
Named in the artists' category is Bong Joon-ho, multi-Oscar winning director of the movie 'Parasite'.
According to his introduction written by Academy Award-winning actor Tilda Swinton, Bong is described as having "risen into the 2020 vision of the entire cine-passionate planet like a new sun".
Others to make the list for 2020 are health expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was selected for his honest guidance in navigating the pandemic in the U.S.,...as well as President Donald
Trump, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris.
