Volunteers from the COVID Memorial Project place American flags on the National Mall, on the grounds of Washington Monument, as the United States crosses the threshold of 200,000 lives lost in the Covid-19 pandemic. "There are 20,000 flags, one flag representing ten Americans who have died from Covid," says project co-organiser Morgan Finkelstein.
