안녕하세요. 방탄소년단의 리더, RM입니다. 오늘 을 맞아 이 자리에 섰습니다. 초대해 주셔서 진심으로 감사드립니다. 오늘 탄생한 이 19년 후 진짜 청년이 되는 날, 문득 그날을 한 번 떠올려봅니다. 저희는 오늘, 미래의 주인공이 되어있을, 그 날의 청년분들께 메시지를 전해보려고 합니다. 미래의 청년 여러분, 잘 지내고 계십니까. 먼저, 전 세계 어딘가에서 지금도 도전을 멈추지 않고, 용기있게 삶을 이끌고 계실 대한민국의 모든 청년분들께 응원의 말씀을 전합니다. 지금부터는, 스물 일곱. 많지 않은 나이지만, 롤러코스터와 같은 삶을 살고 있는 어느 일곱 청년의 이야기를 들려드리려고 합니다. 만약 미래의 삶에서 여러가지 이유로 어려움을 겪고 계시다면, 2020년 저희의 이야기가 작은 힘이 되기를 바랍니다.
Hello. I'm RM, the leader of BTS. I'm standing here to celebrate the "1st Youth Day" today. Thank you for your invitation. I'm going to imagine the day when "Youth Day", born today, reaches young adulthood 19 years from now. Today, we want to send a message to the young people who will be the stars of that future. Hello, young people of tomorrow. How are you? First, I want to send a word of encouragement to all the young people of Korea who continue to pioneer new frontiers and live their lives to the fullest in all parts of the world. Now, at age 27, still young, I'd like to tell the story of certain seven young men who are living dramatic roller-coaster lives. If you are facing hardship in your life of the future, I hope you will draw some strength from our story from the year 2020.

In fact, regardless of epoch or era, the profession of "idols", of artists is a path without signposts. We set out with nothing but music as our dream, but we don't know where we're going, whether we're going uphill or downhill, not knowing as we tire and take a breather whether around the corner is paradise or a pitfall. That was how we started.

지금으로부터 7년 전인 데뷔 초, 방탄소년단은 오기와 패기, 열정과 독기를 무기삼아 감히 예측도 할 수 없는 그런 길을 걷기 시작했습니다. 누구보다 더, 성공하고 싶었습니다. 작은 회사에서 데뷔해 많은 어려움, 걱정과 맞서가며 어쩌면 무모하고, 어쩌면 바보같을 만큼 앞뒤 돌아보지 않고 열심히 했습니다. 무엇을 어떻게 해야할 지도 몰랐지만, 먼 훗날 다 추억이 될 것이고 지금 힘든 것들은 다 지나갈 것이다, 그렇게 절실하게 주문을 외웠던 것 같습니다.
Seven years ago when we debuted, BTS armed ourselves with drive and hubris, passion and grit to walk a path where nothing could be predicted. We wanted to succeed, more than anyone. Debuting with a small company and facing hardships and worries we went on, sometimes recklessly and hardheaded working hard and never looking back. We didn't know what to do, but we kept telling ourselves with some despair that this too shall pass, that these will become fond memories.
