Special Tribunal pulls brakes on EC scooter controversy
  • 4 years ago
The Special Tribunal has ordered that the controversial Eastern Cape scooter tender be set aside. That is while the Special Investigating Unit continues its probe of the R10.1 million contract. The sitting commenced today. The SIU's been granted an order interdicting the Eastern Cape Health Department from paying the company manufacturing the scooters. The department, and Fabkomp, have told the tribunal they will not oppose the outcome of the sitting. The Special Tribunal says the awarding of the tender was in its final stages before this order was made.
