This phenomenal actor was the inspiration behind the movie, “Anand.”
Director Hrishikesh Mukherjee wrote the character of Anand inspired by his friend and a Bollywood legend Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor used to call Hrishikesh Mukherjee Babumoshai. When Rishikesh wrote this character, Raj Kapoor was very ill and Mukherjee felt that he would leave the world. However, this did not happen. Later this film was dedicated to Raj Kapoor and the people of Bombay.
