Indian villagers protect hundreds of bats despite COVID-19 concerns

Residents of Kazhuperumpakkam in Tamil Nadu's Villupuram district, southern India protecting and worship the hundreds of bats' occupying their trees.

Despite being suspects for the transmission of coronavirus, residents do not disturb the bats, that are said to have arrived in the village three decades ago and captured in this footage on September 5.

Considering the animals lucky, according to local media, villagers won't burst crackers during the Hindu festival of Diwali.
