The filing began in 1991 but was delayed for six years due to Sanjay Dutt's arrest in 1993 during Mumbai bomb blasts, followed by breakup of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. Music of the film was composed by famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
