Mountaineers of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) successfully climbed the Leo Pargil peak (22,222 Ft) in Himachal Pradesh. A total of 12 members of the 16-member ITBP team from Sector Headquarters ITBP Shimla finished the journey on August 31 to record the first such ascent amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “The leader of this extremely challenging expedition was Deputy Commandant Kuldeep Singh and Deputy Leader was Deputy Commandant Dharmendra. Head Constable Pradeep Negi, a native of Chhitkul, the last border village in Kinnaur, climbed the peak for the second time. Pradeep has earlier also climbed the world’s highest mountain- the Mt Everest twice,”

आईटीबीपी के जवानों ने एक बार फिर पराक्रम दिखाया है। 22,222 फीट ऊंची लियो पारगिल चोटी पर भारत का तिरंगा फहराकर इतिहास रच दिया। लियो पारगिल की चोटी हिमाचल प्रदेश की तीसरी सबसे ऊंची चोटी है। जहां भारतीय हिमवीरों ने बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की। आईटीबीपी पर्वतारोही दल के डिप्टी कमांडेंट जी.डी. कुलदीप सिंह की अगुवाई में कांस्टेबल प्रदीप नेगी, काको केदारता, अनील नेगी और आशीष नेगी ने 31 अगस्त, 2020 को इस कठिन अभियान को सफलतापूर्वक अंजाम दिया.
