Amid the ongoing debate over privatization of airports, the central government has indicated that it will increase further in the coming times. Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that Air India has been an important asset for us. But at the same time, he said that it is not the responsibility of the government to run airports and airlines. The Union Minister has expressed the hope that the privatization of Air India will be completed by the end of this year.

हवाई अड्डों के निजीकरण को लेकर चल रही बहस के बीच केंद्र सरकार ने संकेत दिया है कि आने वाले समय में इसमें और तेजी आएगी। केंद्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने कहा कि एयर इंडिया हमारे लिए अहम संपत्ति रही है। लेकिन इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि एयरपोर्ट और एयरलाइंस को चलाना सरकार की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने इस बात की उम्मीद जताई है कि एयर इंडिया का निजीकरण इस वर्ष के अंत तक पूरा हो जाएगा।
