- PH coronavirus cases may reach 375,000 by September 30 – experts. In its latest report from Thursday, August 27, the Octa Research Group estimated the total confirmed cases in the country would reach 330,000 for a "lower" estimate, 350,000 for "median," and 375,000 for "upper" limit by September 30.

- House panels detain PhilHealth exec for contempt. PhilHealth Internal Legal Department senior manager Rogelio Pocallan Jr will be detained in the House until Monday, August 31.

- Locsin wants termination of deals with Chinese firms on US blacklist. 'If I find that any of those companies are doing business with us, then I would strongly recommend that we terminate the relationship with that company,' says Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.
