unions want retrenchment changes

The Congress of South African Trade Unions calling for changes to be made to Section 189 of the Labour Relations Act. This in a bid to make the retrenchment processes easier and fairer for workers. The federation says the fundamentals of the labour market policy are ‘not sound’ and “the overall thrust of the legislative framework remains inadequate”.
