Skating involves any sports or recrea moving on ice by using ice skatestional activity which consists of traveling on surfaces or on ice using skates.

There are several different kinds of skating :

i) Ice Skating : moving on ice by using ice skates

ii) Roller Skating : the traveling on surfaces with roller skates

iii) Snow Skating : using a hybrid of a skateboard and a snowboard on snow
