Hurricane Laura forecast to cause "catastrophic damage" to U.S. Gulf Coast

People living along the Gulf Coast of the U.S. are on high alert as Hurricane Laura, a Category 4 storm, is set to hit near the Texas and Louisiana border early Thursday local time.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center warns that Laura is expected to cause "catastrophic damage" and "unsurvivable storm surge."
Hundreds of thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate their homes.
Bloomberg, citing Enki Research, said the hurricane could cause as much as 25 billion U.S. dollars in damage.
