Police arrested two Hong Kong opposition lawmakers on August 26, 2020 over the city’s anti-government protests in 2019. Officers detained 16 people, including Democratic Party’s Lam Cheuk-ting and Ted Hui Chi-fung. Lam was arrested on suspicion of rioting in relation to the Yuen Long incident on July 21, 2019, in which a mob beat pro-democracy protesters and bystanders with rods at Yuen Long MTR station.
