Moon calls for exceptional measures for economic revitalization, virus prevention

President Moon Jae-in called for pan-government emergency response to both the Covid-19 and the economic fallout and the nation is gripped with a new wave of the pandemic.
At a Cabinet meeting today,... he asked officials to direct all efforts toward quarantine while drawing up measures to restore employment stability, minimize economic damage and regain the recovery momentum.
I ask the government to focus all its capacity on operating emergency systems to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 and to draw up measures to protect jobs, minimize the economic fallout, stabilize people's lives and revive the economy.
President Moon called for the swift implementation of the government's third extra budget,... and requested that officials check whether the previous budgets have had a big enough impact.
He added that, if necessary, he could convene a meeting of the emergency economic council.
Moon has chaired six sessions of the council since March,... where he approved a series of measures, including extra budgets.
In today's meeting, the government also passed a number of bills aimed at revitalizing the economy,... such as tax breaks for companies that make investments.
