Giant Buddha gets feet wet after 70 years | China floods wet Buddha statue | Oneindia news

The worst flooding in China in 70 years has caused water levels to rise so much that the feet of a massive Buddha statue are now dampened by water for the first time since the 1940s. The Leshan Giant buddha statue was carved into a hill side in the 8th century AD and towers at a height of 71 metres. The feet of this statue, which has toes, each larger than a person, are usually comfortably above the water level, but that has changed this year.
