An independent probe has cleared former Botswana President Ian Khama and Bridgette Mostepe of taking part in a coup attempt. Law firm Omnia Strategy's forensic investigation also cleared the two of being involved in money laundering. Lead investigator, Cherie Blair, who is also the wife of former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, described the allegations as baseless.
