Hongkongers were cleaning up their city in the wake of typhoon Higos as it moved away from the city on August 19, 2020. The Hong Kong Observatory downgraded its typhoon signal No 9 to a No 8 at 7.40am and a No 3 several hours later. The No 9 signal, the second-highest warning, was the first issued in the city since Super Typhoon Mangkhut hit in September 2018.
