In the late 1980s, India's external spy agency the Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW) managed to recruit two agents in the then Soviet Union who would go on to provide volumes of high value information. These agents were apparently related to Eduard Ambrosiyevich Shevardnadze -- a foreign affairs minister in the Mikhail Gorbachev cabinet and a later president of Georgia -- and the now all-powerful Russian president Vladimir Putin.Watch video,
