Darren Sammy eyes on international return to play in 2021 T20 World Cup | Oneindia Sports

Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy says he has still ‘not closed the door’ on his international return and plans to make a comeback to the national team ahead of 2021 T20 World Cup in India with a good show in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The 36-year-old Sammy last played for West Indies when he led the team to the 2016 T20 World Cup win, beating England in the final at Eden Gardens. Sammy said the long Covid-19 hiatus has given him enough time to introspect and reignited a desire to make a comeback.

ज्यों ही टी20 विश्वकप कोरोना काल की वजह से आगे के लिए खिसका दिया गया है. बहुत ऐसे खिलाड़ी हैं जिनकी ख्वाहिशें अब रिटायरमेंट से वापसी कर टी20 विश्वकप खेलने की है. इस फेहरिस्त में एक नाम डैरेन सैमी का भी जुड़ गया है. डैरेन सैमी वेस्टइंडीज को दो विश्वकप जीता चुके हैं और दो टी20 विश्वकप जिताने वाले वो इकलौते कप्तान भी हैं. पर बोर्ड के खिलाफ जाकर उन्होंने आवेश में रिटायरमेंट की घोषणा कर दी थी. वेस्टइंडीज क्रिकेट बोर्ड के साथ बहुत खिलाड़ियों का मनमुटाव रहा है. पर अब विंडीज का ये पूर्व कप्तान वापसी का मन बना रहा है. दुनिया भर में टी20 क्रिकेट लीग में हिस्सा लेने वाले डैरेन सैमी अब देश के लिए एक बार फिर से टी20 विश्वकप जितना चाहते हैं.
