An anti-drone system developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was deployed near the Red Fort on Saturday on the ocassion of the 74th Independence Day. The DRDO-developed system can detect and jam micro drones up to 3 kilometres and use laser to bring down a target up to 1-2.5 kilometres depending on the wattage of laser weapon, officials had earlier said.

74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के मौके पर लाल किले पर इस बार विशेष इंतजामों के साथ प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का भाषण हुआ. सुरक्षा एजेंसी ने लाल किले की सुरक्षा की चाक चौबंद व्यवस्था की हुई थी. यहां एक ऐसा एंटी ड्रोन सिस्टम तैनात किया गया था जो किसी भी तरह के छोटे से छोटे ड्रोन हमले को रोकने में सक्षम था. ये सिस्टम तीन किमी तक किसी भी माइक्रो ड्रोन का पता लगाने में सक्षम है. यही नहीं 1 से 2.5 किमी के दायरे में लेजर की मदद से मार गिराने में सक्षम है.
