Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, private travel agents are hijacking the country's massive repatriation mission. An investigation recently found various travel operators are selling Vande Bharat tickets to stranded passengers at a high premium. An India Today's reporter posing as a Canada-bound passenger talked to one of the agents and asked for tickets for Toronto. He also asked for the price of each ticket. To which, Rahul Aggarwal of Real Fly Tour and Travels replied that a single ticket costed Rs 1.75 lakh for August 8/9 or 11. He further said that tickets weren't available. They are being sold at Rs 2 lakh-Rs 2.25 lakh each. Aggarwal even said he won’t be able to offer a particular date for Toronto because he had to get it done from the insiders. The travel operator claimed he would issue the booking, otherwise showing sold-out on the official portal, after securing it underhandedly from airline officials.
