Debate no-go: Nazri shocked, disappointed with police order

Culture and Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz expressed disappointment with the refusal of the police to grant permission for his planned debate with former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, scheduled for Saturday.Perak acting police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan rejected Karangkraf Media Group’s application for a permit to organise the much anticipated debate between Nazri and Parti Pribumi Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir. Hasnan said the application was rejected after the Kuala Kangsar district police studied the application and felt it was not in the best interest of the people there.
