Barisan Nasional lawmakers could not support PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang's Private Member's Bill, aimed at empowering the Syariah courts as it was not explained in detail. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the Bill should have been explained clearly especially whether certain segments of society, like women and children, would be badly affected by it.
