Freak rain kills at least 11 in Japan

At least 11 people died, 14 others unaccounted for, and hundreds were cut off from the outside world due to landslides after freak rains hit southwestern Japan on Friday. Parts of Fukuoka prefecture were hit by 24 inches of rain in 48 hours, more than 1.5 times the usual amount for the month, according to the meteorological agency.
