Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir suggests that the proposed amendment to include tahfiz religious schools into the Education Act 1996 (Act 550) should be presented and approved by the respective Sultans. He said this is because matters relating to Islam falls under the purview of the state ruler.
