Shell Electric Run Malaysia 2015

The night was hot and hazy, but that didn't stop 11,875 people from being part of Electric Run Malaysia 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

The marathon, which has been held in over 20 countries since 2012, was making its Malaysian debut, and – according to organisers Livescape Group – also earned itself the “Largest Participation in a Neon Run” title in the Malaysia Book Of Records.

Presented by Shell FuelSave, the 5km course was lit up like a Christmas tree with 572 lighting fixtures and 782 inflatable props. In the spirit of the event, runners wore neon coloured outfits and reflectors, glow-in-the-dark face and body paint, and waved glow sticks throughout the night.

The course included themed areas like Neffmau5 Land, an ethereal section decorated with neon trees and sky lanterns. At the Rainforest stretch, runners jogged under glowing umbrellas hanging overhead as jungle sounds filled the night air.
