Environmental damage as Wakashio oil spill reaches coast of Mauritius

MV Wakashio ran aground on July 25 and has since leaked tons of oil into the surrounding waters.

Footage recorded by @gregrouxel and @hugoclementk on Saturday (August 8) shows black oil covering sand and vegetation along the beaches of Grand Port, Mauritius.

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth declared a state of environmental emergency on Friday (August 7).
