290 passengers rescued from two trains in Mumbai

Intense rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Mumbai for a second consecutive day on August 5 and uprooted hundreds of trees across the city, submerged vast areas and also resulted in the collapse of buildings on Wednesday. As Mumbai battled heavy rainfall on Wednesday, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued 290 passengers from two local trains stranded on flooded tracks between the CSMT and Sandhurst Road station.
