The Desert Action Association of Dakhla, was the first to call for the construction of a Faculty of Desert and Sea Sciences and an Institute of Desert and Sea Professions, since its creation on Friday February 24, 2017 .
Among the objectives of the Desert Action Association:
Promote and develop the desert and Sahara economy (arid or dry area economy), in all its dimensions, and contribute to raising awareness of its importance and exploring its horizons.
Working to link scientific research with desert qualifications through the creation of academic disciplines in various aspects related to desert economics (tourism, energy, agricultural, marine, technological), via the construction of a Faculty of Desert and Marine Sciences and Institutes dedicated to Desert and Marine Sciences (Ocean Sciences, Sea Sciences), where students could study all about Desert and Sea professions (Dakhla, Laayoune...) .
Conducting studies and scientific research related to the goals of the association.
Organizing scientific meetings ( conferences, seminars, Congresses ...), training and workshops, and field visits.
Encouraging desert tourism (Saharan tourism) and promoting it by contributing to a vision that aims to make such a region a leading international tourist destination.
