Social Development Minister in the firing line

Five million people, out of seven million who applied, have now received at least one payment of the social distress grant. The R350 grant was introduced to cushion the blow of the COVID-19 pandemic. But opposition parties are calling for the head of Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu, saying she is failed the country’s most vulnerable. They say she has no plan to fix a broken social relief system beset by corruption.
