- House probes loom over ABS-CBN QC property, P1.6-B condoned Lopez loans. The House of Representatives is not yet done with ABS-CBN and its owners.

- House panel approves 12% 'Netflix, Lazada' tax. The House committee on ways and means approves a 12% tax on digital transactions on Wednesday, July 29.

- Solicitor-General Jose Calida is now 2nd highest paid government official. The Commission on Audit reports Calida earned a total of P16.9 million in 2019.

- Senator Risa Hontiveros calls for special audit of gov’t spending on COVID-19 response. In the resolution, Hontiveros and senators Ralph Recto, Frank Drilon, Sonny Angara, Ping Lacson, Kiko Pangilinan, and Leila de Lima urge the COA to present its findings to Congress before it begins deliberating the 2021 national budget.

- FALSE: Photo of Jeff Canoy, ABS-CBN supporters in ‘illegal mass gathering.’ The screenshot was from a February 21 newscast, which took place almost a month before the first quarantine measure was imposed in the Philippines.
